Indians who are citizens or permanent residents of Greece are allowed to enter at any point in time.

Most major attractions are closed. Archaeological sites such as those listed below are set to open from 18 May 2021 along with botanical gardens and zoos.

  • Archaeological site of Mycenae


  • Walking trails, parks and beaches: National parks in Greece are open to locals and Indians alike, including Vikos National Park, Mount Olympus National Park, Oeta National Park and Alonissos Marine Park. Indians should keep in mind that beaches in Greece open seasonally between spring and autumn. Be sure to check local council sites to confirm exact dates. Some popular beaches that people from India should check out once they've open include: Elafonissi Beach in Crete, Balos in Crete, Paradise Beach in Mykonos, Plaka Beach in Naxos, Agios Prokopios Beach in Naxos and Red Beach in Santorini.
  • Shopping centres and stores: Select shopping centres and retail stores remain open to people from India and locals between 7:30am and 8:30pm on weekdays, 7am and 8:30pm on Saturdays and 7am and 5:30pm on Sundays.
  • Restaurants, cafes and bars: Indian travellers need to keep in mind that restaurants and cafes are only offering delivery and take away services. Public gatherings are prohibited.

What are the entry requirements for Greece coming from India?

Do I need a permit to enter Greece?

Yes, all travellers from India must complete a Passenger Locator Form before arriving in Greece. Indians will receive a confirmation email once they've successfully completed the form, which comes with its own unique code.

Do I need proof I've had a vaccine to travel?

At this point in time, people from India don’t need proof of vaccination to enter Greece but it may be required

From 14 May 2021, Indians will need to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.

Do I need proof I've had a negative test before departing Greece?

All visitors from India must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result completed no earlier than 72 hours before their arrival in Greece. Indians might also be required to complete a rapid test upon entry and after the seventh day in quarantine.

Do I need to quarantine when I arrive in Greece?

Once Indian travellers arrive in Greece, they must self-quarantine at home for 7 days. Indians who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to complete a full 14-day quarantine in an isolation hotel.
