Expert review

Naturally, the IKEA® Visa® credit card offers excellent rewards at IKEA: accelerated rewards on IKEA purchases and select services. Even if you don’t shop much at the retailer, however, you can still earn strong rewards on everyday purchases.

The perks

  • Annual fee:
  • Activation bonus: off your first IKEA purchase.
To activate this bonus, you must open and use your card the same day.
  • Signup bonus: IKEA Reward Certificate.
To earn this bonus, spend $500 in qualifying purchases outside of IKEA, TaskRabbit and Traemand within the first 90 days of card membership.

This is a relatively low bonus compared to other no-annual-fee products. You’ll often find bonuses worth at least $150.

  • Rewards: Up to 5% back in rewards.
Earn 5% back in rewards on IKEA purchases, Traemand installation and TaskRabbit assembly services.

Earn 3% back in rewards on groceries, dining and utility purchases.

You’ll also like …

  • Automatic enrollment in IKEA FAMILY.
IKEA’s loyalty program comes with benefits like free coffee or hot tea at the store’s restaurant, 90-day price protection and 30 extra minutes for your kids at IKEA’s childcare center each time you visit.
  • Visa benefits.
Access emergency card replacement and cash disbursement if you lose your card. You’ll also receive auto rental protection when you pay for your rental with your card and decline the agency’s coverage.

What to watch out for

  • You’ll receive your rewards in $15 increments.
Rewards come in the form of reward certificates, which are redeemable only at IKEA and
