How to set up Now TV | A step-by-step guide
Your step-by-step guide for setting up Now TV on every available device
Updated
Thousands upon thousands of hours of entertainment await you on the Now TV streaming service. The only thing standing between you and bedsores caused by an unhealthy amount of binge-watching is the set-up process. Some ways of getting connected are easy, others are a pain on par with the aforementioned pressure ulcers. Let’s tackle them all, together, right now.
Step one: How to subscribe to Now TV
First thing’s first. If you want Now TV…uh, now…on your TV, you’ll need to surrender some details and make some decisions. Heading on over to Now TV will let you effectively build your own plan by selecting the “passes” you desire most. For starters, just add the Trial passes for Entertainment, Sky Cinema and Kids (sadly, Sports isn’t offered as a taste-test freebie).
Once you’ve done this, enter an email address and a designated password and then some payment details. Why the latter? Because when that 14-day freebie period ends, you’ll be charged the usual monthly rate. Be sure to CANCEL before this happens because three passes is going to make quite the dent in your account.

Supported devices
Before we get into the usual devices that are supported by almost every other streaming service, let’s look at Now TV’s exclusive Smart Stick option. Going for €25.00, this dongle + remote control solution is about as easy as it gets. We’ll get into how to set it up in a little while.
Beyond that, Now TV is supported on a wide array of third-party platforms. Assuming you meet the minimum network requirements (2.5Mbps broadband or 180Kbps 3G/4G), you can use Now TV on the following:
- NOW TV Box
- iOS
- Android
- Chromecast
- Samsung TV and LG smart TVs
- Windows
- Mac
- PS4/Xbox One
How can I watch Now TV with my Now TV Smart Stick?
The Smart Stick has all the software it needs to get the job done. All that’s required from you is a very simple hardware install. This can be boiled down to three steps. 1: Plug the dongle into the HDMI port of your Smart TV. 2: Plug the USB cable into the back of the very same dongle, and then put the other end of the USB cable into a free USB port in the back of your TV (or use a wall adaptor for power). 3: Put batteries in the remote and turn it on.
Once you’ve changed to your AUX/HDMI channel, you’ll see the Now TV interface. Enter your Wi-Fi details to let the Stick get online and contact the Now TV servers. Enter your pre-selected login details and then get to watching.
How can I watch Now TV with my Now TV Box?
The good news is that your Now TV Box comes with the Now TV app already installed and ready to go. The only thing left to do is to plug the device in, enter your Wi-Fi details to get online and then enter the login details you created during the sign-up process.
How can I watch Now TV on my mobile device and/or tablet?
The App Store, iTunes and Google Play all have official Now TV apps that you can download in a jiffy. Once it’s installed, getting connected is as simple as entering your Now TV email and password.
Quick note for the advanced users running rooted Android devices: you’re out of luck. Now TV won’t work for you.
How do I watch Now TV on my Chromecast?
This route is not dissimilar to setting up the Now TV Smart Stick. You’ll need to plug the Chromecast into an HDMI port on your Smart TV and then get power to the device via either a USB port on the TV or through a power adaptor. Download the Google Home app onto your iOS device and make sure that same said device is on the exact same Wi-Fi signal as the Chromecast. The Now TV welcome page will appear on your TV at which point you can watch Now TV on your device.
How do I watch Now TV on my Samsung or LG Smart TV?
First of all, be aware that only certain TVs will work with Now TV. With Samsung units, you need a model that was built in 2016 or later (and Samsung Serif models aren’t compatible at all). That said, all compatible LG models come with the Now TV installed standard – so you’ll know immediately if it’s compatible.
Samsung users will need to navigate to the App section of their Smart HUB. A quick search will turn up the Now TV app, and once you’ve installed it, you can enter your sign-in details to get watching.
How do I watch Now TV on my Mac or Windows desktop?
This route is simplicity itself. Direct your browser to www.Now TV.com and click on something to watch. You’ll then be prompted to download and install the Now TV Player. Windows users can double click on this program to install it. Mac users will need to double click on the .dmg file and then drag the program icon within to their Applications folder.
And that’s about it, really. The next time you click on a TV or movie on the Now TV homepage, your content will play in the browser.
How do I watch Now TV on my Xbox One or PlayStation 4 gaming console?
First, you’ll need to navigate to your console’s storefront. The easiest way to do this on the PS4 is to click on TV/Video in the main menu. Click on the Now TV app to download it and then enter your details to get watching. Xbox One users need to click on the App button on their home dashboard and then enter “Now TV” in the search bar to find and download the app.
