What does Piktochart do?
Piktochart offers users the ability to focus on one of three visually-appealing projects:
Depending on what plan you select, you can choose from up to 600 templates. The templates are then populated by photos, video, icons, charts and map, and can be integrated with data from SurveyMonkey or Google Spreadsheets. From there, you can share your infographics via social media or with HTML code for your own website. Presentations can be viewed online or documents can be saved as JPEGs, PNGs or PDFs and printed out. Piktochart prides itself on offering:
- Icons and images
- Charts and maps
- Ready-to-use graphics
- High resolution (hi-res) downloads
Plans and pricing
Piktochart has a free lifetime account offer that includes unlimited creations, an intuitive editor, access to all of the site’s icons and images, and the ability to download and share creations in their original size.

A Pro team plan is due in 2017 that will allow users access to all of the Pro plan’s features. Additionally, templates can be created for your team to use and edit. You can invite team members to edit your projects as well as leave comments on shared projects. You can also assign roles to team members. More features are expected to be announced when the plan goes active.
Pros and cons
Piktochart gives graphic design novices the ability to make unique and complex infographics with pre-made templates and a bevvy of visual choices. The choice of wording on its free offer is a bit misleading.
- With the basic service, you have an enormous amount of creativity for projects, including 100MB of uploadable photos.
- If you have used any sort of graphic editor before – such as Adobe Photoshop or Indesign – the learning curve is quick.
- Much is made of the 600 free templates available, but only about 25 come with the free plan.
