The Finder Crypto Trading Platform Awards 2022 recognise the best platforms for investing in crypto in Ireland.

Designed to celebrate crypto trading platforms with a large international userbase, Finder took into account the global footprint of eligible brands when evaluating the best platforms in Ireland.

Our data scientists and cryptocurrency experts ran the numbers and scored participating crypto trading platforms on a comprehensive list of 55 criteria. These criteria covered areas including fees, advanced features, security and more.

The exchange and broker with the highest scores in their respective categories were named the winners.

Best Global Cryptocurrency Exchange:

Kraken

Kraken scored consistently well across the board for its beginner-friendly features, value for money and international userbase, securing its place as our global winner.

Established in 2011, the feature-rich exchange has been a go-to trading platform for new and experienced crypto investors ever since.

Finder Global Crypto Broker Award badge 2022

Best Global Broker – Crypto Trading:

eToro

eToro scored well across all aspects of the broker category, but it really excelled for its beginner-friendly features.

The social trading platform is best known for its CopyTrader feature, where users can connect with and copy other crypto traders – giving first-timers a glimpse of what moves experienced investors are making.

Awards criteria

Here’s how our expert analysts assessed global crypto trading platforms to pick the 2022 winner.

Selection criteria

We conducted an extensive review of the global cryptocurrency market and contacted 219 cryptocurrency exchanges and brokers to participate in the awards program. Any platforms that didn’t complete the information form were not included in the final analysis.

There were no local regulatory requirements to be eligible for the global award.

The awards for “Best Global Cryptocurrency Exchange” and “Best Global Broker – Crypto Trading” were given to the business that had the highest average score across the 4 following categories, each contributing 25% of the score for the overall winner:

  • Beginners
  • Value
  • Altcoin trading
  • Advanced features
