How to download movies or TV shows from Netflix
Save your data and watch your favorite movies and series offline.
Netflix is great for binge-watching popular series at home. Sit back on the sofa and watch the latest episode of The Witcher on your big screen with your broadband connection.
But what if you want to watch on a flight without paying for Internet, or on a road trip in the back seat? Streaming burns through mobile data quickly, so Wi-Fi isn’t the best choice. Thankfully, the platform provides a way to download titles on your smartphones, tablets and computers running Windows 10, to watch content even when you’re offline.
3 steps to download content from Netflix
Most titles on Netflix are available for download, including its original content for your tablet, laptop or smartphone — but only with its app.
Step 1: Install the Netflix app on your device
If you don’t have the Netflix app on your device, head to the App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store, depending on your operating system. Mac computers don’t support the app, so you can’t watch netflix offline.
Once it’s installed, log in with your Netflix username and password, and you’re good to go.
Step 2: Find the title you want to watch offline
Click on the show you want to download, and a description page comes up. Look for the Download button and click. Downloading takes just a few seconds.
Note: For TV shows, the Download icon will appear next to each available episode.
Step 3: Watch Netflix content offline
Once the title has finished downloading, click Play and start watching.
Plan to watch later? Head to the app’s My Downloads section where all your downloaded titles are listed.
How to download from Netflix on Mac
You can’t watch Netflix offline on a Mac. Streaming on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, or Safari browser is the only way to watch on a Mac.
How to download from Netflix on PC
Download Netflix content on your computer if you’re running Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update) or later. However, you can’t use your browser — you need to download and install the Netflix app from the Windows Store. After that, follow the steps listed above.
