Is uSMART safe?

uSMART is regulated and licensed by The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, with Type 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities (CE number: BJA907). The customers’ assets are stored in independent bank custody and their accounts are under the Investor Compensation Fund’s protection.

As for data security, uSMART offers advanced security encryption features, as well as setting up 2 data centres in Hong Kong to keep the transaction records, assets data and personal information safe and secure.

Types of accounts at uSMART

uSMART offers basic accounts and PRO accounts.

Basic: One can adds plans on top according to their trading needs, e.g. $0 Commission Plan for HK and US stock, High-Frequency Trading Plan etc.

PRO: it also offers three different plans – Low Commission Plan, Free Platform Fee Plan, and High-Frequency Plan.

uSMART’s fees

The fees depend on the type of plan you have. For regular plans, the structure is:

Commission + Platform Fee (payee: uSMART).

Also please pay attention that you may also need to pay “Pass Through Fees” depending on the products/markets (e.g. HKEX also charges a Platform Fee, a Trading fee etc).

*Lifetime $0 Commission Plan for US stock: all users have this plan added to their account by default.

All users are eligible to enjoy 0% commission rate per US stock transaction, with a fixed US$0.009 platform fee per share.

(*Maximum platform fee: 0.5% of transaction amount/ transaction; Minimum platform fee: US$1.88/ transaction; plus US$0.003 settlement fee per share with a minimum fee of US$0.01 per transaction.)
