AEON offers a wide choice of credit cards on every single major credit card network. All AEON cardholders enjoy special rebates at AEON stores including interest-free instalments on select purchases.

Types of AEON credit cards
You can obtain a credit card on your preferred payment network with AEON’s everyday spending cards which are issued on a variety of card networks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay and even JCB. Co-branded cards include brand-specific benefits while the AEON charity cards automatically pay a donation to the designated charity for every Hong Kong dollar that you spend.
Everyday spend cards
With an AEON credit card you receive cash rebates on spending at AEON stores and accumulate AEON Bonus Points which you can redeem for a variety of items. Simply choose which credit card network suits you best and apply for the matching AEON credit card.
If you frequently eat at restaurants, consider one of the AEON Restaurant Series cards. AEON offers cards in partnership with Ajisen Ramen, WATAMI, KFC and U-Banquet that feature discounts, special reservation options and a higher bonus points earnings rate.
You can receive additional benefits when shopping at your favourite retailer if you hold an AEON co-branded credit card. Japan Home Centre, Circle K, EgL tours and DR-MAX all offer special discounts and offers via their respective co-branded AEON credit cards. You also get all the usual AEON credit card benefits, including bonus points.
Donate to charity as you spend with the AEON Charity Series. Support the SPCA by applying for the Puppy or Kitten Mastercard, a percentage of all your spending will automatically be donated to the society. Alternatively, the AEON Sowers Action credit card donates a set amount of all your credit card spend towards educational aid.
Air miles cards
AEON has partnered with Japan Airlines to offer you a mile-earning credit card. At the time of writing, you can earn one JAL mile for every HK$8 of spend, with a higher earnings rate for some qualifying categories of spend. You can also enjoy JAL Satellite Travel Offers if you meet a spending requirement on your card.
American Express credit cards
Enjoy American Express perks such as American Express Selects when you apply for the AEON American Express credit card. Your AEON American Express card also features all the usual benefits of AEON’s everyday spending cards, including rebates at AEON stores.
Manage your company expenses with an AEON Corporate Card. AEON offers a consolidated monthly statement which lists all transactions including the employee who made the transaction. Any Hong Kong company which has limited liability status and which has been operating for a year can apply.
What benefits can I get with an AEON credit card?
AEON Bonus Point Program
All credit cards issued by AEON are automatically enrolled in the Bonus Points program. Earn one bonus point for almost every Hong Kong dollar you spend and even more points on certain categories of credit card spend, depending on which AEON credit card you hold. You can exchange your Bonus Points for a range of items in the Bonus Points Catalogue, including airline miles and charity donations.
Interest-free instalments on selected purchases
Enjoy interest-free instalments on eligible purchases such as furniture and electrical appliances. AEON allows you to save on interest charges across a designated range of purchases throughout the year.
Monthly AEON shopping specials
As an AEON credit card holder you can enjoy unique monthly shopping special offers. Each month AEON selects a range of top discount offers that you can take advantage of using your AEON card.
Octopus AAVS service
AEON credit cards can connect with your Octopus, so you can easily and conveniently top up your Octopus account and travel without interruption. You can share this benefit with up to three family members on your account.
Special discounts with co-branded credit cards
You can pick from several co-branded AEON credit cards, each of which will give you special discounts or privileges at your favourite restaurant, or a store of your choice.
How can I apply for an AEON credit card?
There are a lot of cards to pick from in the AEON range, so carefully consider which AEON credit card meets your needs the best. If you regularly travel, you may want to apply for JCB or UnionPay cards which are widely accepted in Japan and China, respectively. Check the eligibility requirements below, and make sure you have the information and documents specified. When you’re ready click the green “Go to Site” button to start your online application.
- Age. You must be at least 18-years-of-age or above at the time of applying before AEON will consider you for a credit card product.
- Residential status. To successfully apply for an AEON credit card, you must be a resident of Hong Kong.
- Income requirements. AEON cards typically have a minimum income requirement of HK$48,000 per year.
- Credit history. AEON will review your credit file and will only approve you if your credit file is free of recent bankruptcy or default markers. Any information you supply that doesn’t match your credit file may result in a delay in your application, or a rejection.
Necessary documents and information
- Proof of identification. AEON follows typical identity verification procedures, so keep your Hong Kong ID details ready and be prepared to submit a copy.
- Full employment details. The AEON credit card application form will require full details about your current employment circumstances. Be prepared to complete details about your income in HK$, the number of years you’ve worked at your current employer as well as your employer’s full address.
- Place of living. Accurately document your current address as well as the length of time you have lived there. You will also be requested to state how much in HK$ you are currently paying in rent, or what your monthly mortgage instalments are.
- Proof of income. Make sure you know exactly what your income is and be ready to provide proof such as a salary statement if you’re requested to do so.
It’s not difficult to qualify for an AEON credit card, but just because you do so does not mean it’s the best option for you. Make sure you compare all the credit card offers in Hong Kong to ensure that you get the best deal.
What supporting documents and information will I need?
AEON follows industry standard credit approval steps, so expect to be required to show proof of your Hong Kong identity card as well as proof of your income and your current address, including past addresses if you have recently moved.
