Which offers lower fees?

You’ll pay $0 in transfer fees when you use HiFX. However, third-party banks may charge fees when you transfer funds to HiFX or when they get to your recipient.

How much money you’re sending, where you’re sending it, how fast you need it delivered and how it’s being received all impact the fee to make a transfer with Ria. The rates start relatively low at just $3.

Case study:Sending $2,000 to Mexico

Let’s imagine you’re sending money to a family member living in Mexico. Here’s what a bank-to-bank transfer might look like using HiFX and Ria.

HiFX Ria
Transfer fee $0 $3
Exchange rate 1 USD = 18.42 MXN 1 USD = 18.16 MXN
Transfer speed 5 days or less 4 days or less
Total received 36,840.00 MXN 36,320.00 MXN

Your family member would get 520 more pesos and you’d save a little money by using HiFX in this example.

Bottom line

Its lack of fees makes HiFX a strong candidate. Ria’s transfer speeds are nothing to cough at though, and the low minimum may be important. But these two are far from your only options. Compare what’s out there to find the service that will meet all of your needs before you decide.
