How to finance a GMC

Teachers, recent college grads and first responders might be eligible for special discounts.

Best known for its lineup of heavy-duty trucks and SUVs, GMCs can get pricey. Fortunately, you have multiple financing options to choose from — not to mention a slew of discounts when you finance directly through an authorized dealership.

How can I finance a GMC?

Any GMC model can be financed with a traditional car loan from a bank, credit union or online lender. These tend to offer more competitive interest rates than going through an authorized dealership.

But if speed is your main concern, you might want to consider taking out a loan directly through GM Financial, GMC’s in-house financing company. Here’s how its two options break down:

  • Financing through GM Financial. In the past, GM Financial has offered cashback deals as well as 0% APR for 72 months on select models, including the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and the 2019 GMC Terrain.
  • Leasing through GM Financial. Many 2019 and 2020 GMC models have lease deals with low monthly payments. These change frequently, however, so check often to see what lease terms you might be eligible for.

Financing and leasing offers will vary based on where you live, so check with your local GMC dealership to explore your options. As with any loan, the exact rates and terms you qualify for will depend on your personal financial situation.

Car insurance costs that come with driving a GMC

Does a new GMC come with a warranty?

Yes. Every new GMC comes with two warranties: a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. These cover your vehicle, including parts and labor, against any problems with workmanship or materials.

GMC also offers an extended warranty, which lengthens the bumper-to-bumper limited warranty to five years or 60,000 miles. There’s no deductible, but it must be purchased when you buy your vehicle. In addition, it has a wide variety of protection plans available to help keep your vehicle in good shape.

Bottom line

GMC trucks and SUVs may be on the pricier end, but there are plenty of car loan options you can compare to find a good deal on your next loan.
