While the protection cloth masks offer differ from N95 masks, they can prevent the particles that get released when you cough or sneeze from travelling too far in the air. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has stated that using a cloth face covering can protect you and those around you from the spread of COVID-19.
Remember that wearing a face mask won’t keep you immune from COVID-19 infection and that you should still adhere to social-distancing requirements and handwashing practices.
How to safely wear a face mask
To ensure your safety and the safety of those around you, be sure to properly wear your face mask. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this means washing or sanitizing your hands before and after touching your mask, and adjusting the mask so that there are no gaps on the sides of your face.
You should also avoid touching the mask while you are wearing it and clean your hands before and after using it. The mask should be stored in a reusable bag until you are able to wash it with soap or detergent once daily.
