Expensify says it doesn’t weigh your personal credit history or your FICO score in its approval decisions. What’s important, according to the company, is that you have funds in your bank account to pay off your purchases with the card.
While the card itself doesn’t have fees, you’ll pay a fee for the Expensify app — either $5 per user per month or $9 per user per month for a subscription, depending on which features you want. Note that pricing may be different based on the type of plan you want. For example, the app is more expensive if you forgo a subscription for a pay-per-use plan.
With each purchase with your Expensify Card, Expensify will forward 10% of the company’s card to charitable causes in five categories. These include Climate, Homes, Hunger, Reentry and Youth.
Your company can donate by activating Corporate Offsets. When you do, you’ll donate $2 for every $1,000 in approved transactions.
The Expensify Card can make expense management easier by automatically uploading transaction details to your Expensify dashboard. In this sense, the card can be a great tool for your business that increases efficiency. You’ll get access to spending controls and automatic eReceipts.
At the same time, the card lacks rewards or a signup bonus, which are major omissions. And because the card requires daily purchase settlement, you won’t get the 30- to 60-day grace period you’ll find with other business products.
If you want rewards or a signup bonus, consider other business credit cards.
