eBay offers free delivery and price matching

Peter Terlato 2 November 2017 NEWS

New “first minute” daily deals this month and price matching through to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

eBay’s latest research encouraged the online marketplace to start holiday sales early this season, as well as launch its new free delivery program and offer price match guarantees on deals extending to Black Friday.

eBay’s Holiday Shopping Survey October 2017 found nearly half of American (45%) start holiday shopping much earlier than Black Friday. The majority of shoppers (72%) do this in order to choose from a better range of gifts.

Around one-fifth of those surveyed (18%) consider themselves to be “last minute” shoppers, while more than one-third (36%) of 18-35 year-olds, millennials, were more likely to shop year round than any other generation.

The survey also revealed that a little over two-fifths of shoppers (42%) prioritize finding gifts for loved ones over presents for colleagues, while almost three-quarters (71%) dedicate the most time and money to Mom.

Drawing inspiration from these findings, eBay will release limited-time “First Minute” deals on a range of products each day through November 9, 2017, offering more than 30-60% off retail prices, plus free shipping.

eBay offers millions of items that ship for free, without a minimum purchase requirement. Its new guaranteed delivery program means over 20 million items will arrive in three days or less. Using eBay’s website, it’s easy to filter items marked for free delivery, or by the number of days it will take to ship a particular product.

A new competitor price match guarantee locks down more than 50,000 deals to ensure shoppers get the best value on top gifts across all categories, from the latest Apple iPhones to Samsonite luggage. eBay said its price match will cover shoppers throughout the entire holiday season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

eBay’s new AI-image search feature is the function that fashionistas didn’t know they needed.

Black Friday is the biggest shopping day in the United States but many retailers have already begun their holiday sales this season. Explore deals and check out our guide to discover all the Black Friday deals of 2017.
