Does Citi have purchase protection?

Yes. Most Citi credit cards still offer this perk. Depending on the card, most come with 90 to 120 days coverage on up to $1,000 per claim or $10,000 per claim, and up to $50,000 per calendar year.

This coverage is better than Visa Signature cards that have standard coverage of $500 per claim.

Note: Some reports say that this perk is no longer available on Citi® Double Cash Card.

How to use Citi purchase protection

Citi purchase protection is automatically activated every time you use your eligible credit card. Here’s how it works:

  1. Make an eligible purchase with your Citi credit card.
  2. Call 866-918-4670 to get a claim form or download a claim form from
  3. Submit the completed form along with any additional documents within 180 days of the occurrence.
  4. Wait for your claim to be processed.
