What does the Chase Slate® credit card have?
Intro APR: 0% for 15 months following your account opening on purchases and balance transfers, and a variable APR after that.
This is a strong intro APR, and you get it for both purchases and balance transfers.
Intro balance transfer fee: during the first 60 days of card membership.
After the intro period the balance transfer fee is $5 or 5% of the transaction, whichever is greater. Plan your balance transfers and try to complete them before your introductory fee ends.
This perk separates this card from the pack, as few cards can match it.
No annual fee.
This is helpful when you want to make a low-cost balance transfer.
Free FICO score monthly.
Keep track of your credit score based on Experian data. This tool is especially valuable because it offers a FICO score. Most banks use FICO scores for their lending decisions.
Can you get a balance transfer card with rewards?
Yes, you can. This type of card generally doesn’t offer the longest intro APR you’ll find, though it might get close.Meanwhile, the U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card offers the top balance transfer intro APR on the market: 0% for 20 months following your account opening on balance transfers, after that it’s 13.99% to 23.99% variable. However, it doesn’t offer rewards.
Most cards follow this pattern: Either a product will shoot for the moon on the intro APR or offer a merely solid intro APR paired with rewards.
There’s one card that bucks the trend…
One card has the best of both worlds: the Citi® Double Cash Card. It offers 1% cash back on all purchases and another 1% back when you pay them off — a stellar rewards rate. At the same time, it offers an excellent intro APR: 0% on balance transfers for 18 months following your account opening. After that, your APR is 13.99% to 23.99% variable.
