What to watch out for
Discover Refer-a-Friend comes with restrictions that can prevent you from earning a referral reward, including:
- Time restrictions.
You can earn a referral reward only if the person you refer applies and is approved by December 31, 2019.
- Credit card restrictions.
You can’t use the referral program if you own the Discover it® Secured or the Discover it® Business Card.
If your family or friends don’t have a Discover card yet, you can both earn a one-time reward after they apply and are approved for a card through your personal referral link.
If you’d rather earn rewards without the hassle of referrals, consider applying for a credit card with a generous signup bonus.
