Coin of the Champions, or COC, was created to link the blockchain and sports industries. Supported by several renowned athletes, such as Ronaldinho Gaucho and Roberto Carlos, Launched in 2021, COC was developed to encourage the exposure of sports culture to a wider audience.
With multiple features built into the project, Coin of the Champions allocates its native COC token to various organisations around the world with the intention of contributing to new sporting infrastructure, such as sports centres, and supporting young athletes.
According to the project’s whitepaper, the COC token was built using the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) blockchain. Although the coin and project are young, the future roadmap on the project’s website lays out the team's expectations for the future. The COC team is working on a play-to-earn fantasy sports league game that works with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and aims to venture into the metaverse, creating its own sports-themed experiences through virtual reality. To further increase the utility of COC, token holders will also soon be able to swap the token for a native BLK stablecoin. By offering stablecoin swap features the team hopes that COC can be used for a wide variety of goods and services.
