Speed through your Clearcover quote with several pieces of information:
According to the website, discounts you may get, such as safety features, are built into your rate automatically. Clearcover claims that because it offers online-based insurance, it doesn’t cost as much to operate. Clearcover can then transfer those savings to its customers through lower rates.
Despite mostly standard coverage, Clearcover does offer a few options to add more protection to your policy, including rideshare coverage that most new companies don’t offer.
This new startup doesn’t have a long history of reviews, but current customers leave positive reviews overall. Clearcover holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and around 40 customers have scored the company an average 4 out of 5 stars. Customers have filed only eight BBB complaints in the past three years, as of 2022.
In addition, Trustpilot gives Clearcover 4 out of 5 stars averaged from over 200 customer reviews. As a caveat, Clearcover asks its customers to leave Trustpilot ratings about their experience. Many drivers report saving anywhere from $300 to $1,000 a year on their premium.
However, a handful of reviewers report Clearcover has a lengthy claims process, despite the company’s announcement that the average claim takes minutes or hours to complete. Other customers report problems with the auto-renew feature on their policy. Keep in mind that many people who write reviews have an exceptionally good or bad experience, and most companies see a mix of both.
Our car insurance experts rate Clearcover about average because it offers standard coverage with a few helpful add-ons like ridesharing coverage, though its options aren’t as comprehensive as our highest-rated companies. Clearcover also ranked average for pricing because it doesn’t offer many discounts to help customers save. Yet it does have a strong online experience and customer ratings.
Clearcover goes with a minimalist approach across the company, including its coverage options. But the basics are all protected.
Although Clearcover is based online, you can choose to file through the app, by email or a phone call. Clearcover claims to be able to process claims and get you paid within minutes or hours.
What financial backing does Clearcover have to pay claims?
The company partners with Response Indemnity Company of California that underwrites its claims. Response Indemnity Company of California has an A- rating by AM Best. This means Clearcover has strong financial and underwriting support, so you won’t need to worry about claims being paid out.
How does Clearcover use artificial intelligence?
Clearcover has designed its online tools to help customers make decisions targeted to their needs. For example, the company’s coverage recommendation tool uses millions of data pieces to create its targeted algorithm.

Clearcover is a new company with a minimalist approach to coverage and online-based customer service. Its best feature is how much it saves customers on premiums, with many reporting that they save hundreds of dollars per year.
However, the company’s tech-based model works best if you like managing your policy and claims through an app. And while reviews praise Clearcover’s cheap rates and easy-to-use app, the company needs more time to prove its dependability with claims.
Go for Clearcover if you have simple insurance needs and don’t mind keeping most communication online.
