Travel with an impressive set of coverage and insurance without paying extra.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card card rivals premium credit cards with its travel insurance. This includes travel accident insurance, trip cancelation and trip delay reimbursement, an auto rental collision damage waiver, baggage delay insurance, lost luggage reimbursement and travel and emergency assistance.

However, you have to meet certain criteria and activate your travel insurance. Typically, the activation means buying your tickets with your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

Is Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card travel insurance all you need?

Some travelers consider the card’s insurance to be all they need. However, if you’re looking for additional coverage, consider the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card or look for individual travel insurance.

How to file a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card travel insurance claim.

  1. Call 888-320-9961 to get more information or to file a claim.
  2. Once you receive a claim form, send it back completed and signed with all required documents.

Bottom line

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offers substantial travel insurance and coverage. Considering its annual fee is only $95, this could be a bargain. If you don’t want to spend money on additional travel insurance, this card could be the right choice.

But if you think the insurance you get isn’t enough, check out other travel credit cards or other primary travel insurance and compare your options.
