Initiate a transfer online or by visiting a Chase branch to send money to many destinations around the world. You can check the status of your transfer through your Chase banking account.

Transfer money directly from your bank account

Send one-off or scheduled transfers from your Chase bank account. It’s a convenient option for Chase customers, but getting a bank account through Chase just to make a transfer might be a bit much for most people.

How much will I pay to transfer money with Chase?

Chase Bank’s transfer fees depend on whether you’re sending or receiving an international wire transfer:

  • To send an international wire transfer at a branch, you’ll pay $45.
  • To send an international wire transfer online, you’ll pay $40.
  • To receive an international wire transfer to your account, you’ll pay $15.

Exchange rates

Like any large bank, Chase updates its rates regularly in line with global currency market fluctuations. Its exchange rates are similar to those offered by other large US banks but not as attractive as the rates you’ll get by using an independent money transfer specialist.

Who charges less?

Independent transfer services usually win out over banks when it comes to fees. There are several providers who will send a transfer for free with competitive exchange rates, including OFX, XE, Transferwise and World First.

My friend transferred money from her bank in Poland, to a chase bank account in Pearland United States branch, she transferred 30,000 dollars from Poland. She learns that the account she sent the money to has been frozen, her bank sent a mail for them to recall the money back to her in Poland but chase bank has not sent the money back and she really needs her money back. She sent the money in may 28 and now we are in July. Why is the money taking so much time before chase bank will recall the money back to her?

      Hi Alexander!

Thanks for getting in touch with finder.

Sorry to hear about this hassle. It would be best to contact Chase bank directly if the funds are floating or have been received. Usually, when accounts are frozen, funds are still there, unfortunately, no withdrawals or deposits or any other transactions can be made until the status of the account has changed. We won’t have any information on the delay of the retraction of funds, only Chase would be able to give information about this.

Hope you find a resolve to this soon.

      Nikki

      Hi Kang,

Thanks for leaving a question on finder.

If you will be using Chase to receive money from Korea, you will need to provide them with the name as it appears on your bank statement, your complete bank account number and the Swift/BIC code which is CHASUS33.

      Hi Nakia,

Thanks for leaving a question on finder.

If you logged in to your online bank account and still does not see the reflection of funds, I suggest that you visit a Chase branch during business hours, or call Chase from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET to follow up and see what is causing the delay. Usually, the transfer will only take 3-5 days.

      Cheers,
      Joel

My wife opened checking account with Chase. She needs to transfer money from bank in Turkey to her new account. The Turkish Bank has requested a 24 digit iban number. What is this number? How do we obtain it?

      HaroldJuly 9, 2017Staff

      Hi Kenneth,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Generally, International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is an internationally agreed system of identifying bank accounts across national borders to facilitate the communication and processing of cross border transactions with a reduced risk of transcription errors. You can check this with your bank to make sure you have the correct information before you proceed on money transfer process.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold
