A safe, reliable way to send money online or from your local branch.

Chase offers its customers a secure and convenient way to send money worldwide in more than 35 currencies — but the fees can be much higher than a money transfer specialist.

Transfer money directly from your bank account

Send one-off or scheduled transfers from your Chase bank account. It’s a convenient option for Chase customers, but getting a bank account through Chase just to make a transfer might be a bit much for most people.

How much will I pay to transfer money with Chase?

Chase Bank’s transfer fees depend on whether you’re sending or receiving an international wire transfer:

  • To send an international wire transfer at a branch, you’ll pay $45.
  • To send an international wire transfer online, you’ll pay $40.
  • To receive an international wire transfer to your account, you’ll pay $15.

Exchange rates

Like any large bank, Chase updates its rates regularly in line with global currency market fluctuations. Its exchange rates are similar to those offered by other large US banks but not as attractive as the rates you’ll get by using an independent money transfer specialist.

Who charges less?

Independent transfer services usually win out over banks when it comes to fees. There are several providers who will send a transfer for free with competitive exchange rates, including OFX, XE and TransferWise.

What types of transfers can I send with Chase?

You can send your international wire transfer on the same day or initiate a transfer for a future date online or at a Chase bank branch. If you submit your transfer by 4 p.m. ET, it will be process the same business day.

With online banking, you can send repeat wire transfers to the same recipient and delegate others to request and approve wire transfers.

Does Zelle work with Chase?

Yes. Chase customers can send money through Chase QuickPay with Zelle, a new peer-to-peer payment service, using the mobile app. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Log in and select QuickPay with Zelle.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions to select a recipient and enter the amount you want to send.
  3. Hit Send money.
  4. Check to make sure you got a confirmation that your money was sent.

I have some money in a South Korean bank. Is there a way to transfer it to a local Chase bank here in the US? Do I need to open a Chase account in Korea?

      Hello Michael,

      Thank you for your comment.

There’s no need to open a Chase account in Korea. You can transfer your money from your Korean bank to Chase bank by contacting you Korean bank or do an online transfer by logging in to your bank account.

Can I transfer fund from India (INR) to Chase (USD) bank? What details and documents should I require to perform this activity from India? Please clarify.

      JoshuaMarch 3, 2019Staff

      Hi Pons,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder. I hope all is well with you. :)

The answer to your question is yes. Normally, you can make a bank to bank transfer from India to a Chase bank account. Alternatively, you can also use a money transfer service provider in India to send the money to a Chase bank account.

Since you are going to send the money to a bank, then you would need the bank account detail of your recipient. This would include the account name and account number. You can know more about which document you would need by asking directly the service provider you have chosen.

I hope this helps. Should you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach us out again.

      Have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Joshua

      Hi Samay,

Thanks for reaching out to finder.

Generally, international bank transfers may take 3-5 business days but may also depend on several factors like where the money will be sent to and when the transfer was lodged. You don’t have to do anything on your end and just have to wait for the money to be credited to your bank account.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Charisse
