Purple was founded by two brothers in 2015, with its now patented hyper-elastic polymer material at the center of its mission: to help people sleep better without spending more. Hyper-elastic polymer is a fancy way of referring to a stretchy material that’ll relaxes under pressure points, so you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a rock.You now have two Purple mattress models to choose from: the Original Purple and the New Purple. Other than price, the main difference between the two is that the new model adds a spring-coil supportive base to the bottom, as well as a customizable foam layer.

Shipping and returns
Casper and Purple both offer free shipping and returns on all mattress purchases, as well as a risk-free 100-night trial. If you’re not in love with your bed after 100 days, contact customer support for a free pickup.
Note that Casper and Purple mattresses are both available through Amazon, but mattresses purchased through the online marketplace adhere to Amazon’s return policy, not the mattress company’s.
Trial periods
Enjoy 100 nights of risk-free sleeping to learn if your new Casper or Purple mattress or pillow is the right fit. Both companies will arrange a free pickup of your mattress if you don’t love it.
All Casper products qualify for this same 100-night trial and free return policy. But Purple doesn’t accept returns on sheets, mattress protectors or bases.

Casper customer service holds steady with great online reviews, even during the return process. Some online reviewers said that although they ended up returning the product, they were pleased with the service.
Online reviews for Purple, on the other hand, aren’t quite as stellar. Some customers report problems with long waits for mattress deliveries, unanswered emails and phone calls and a stressful return process.
