The Mitsubishi i-MiEV has been around since 2009, but the car was introduced into the United States market in 2012. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is the first mass produced electric car that could used on a modern highway. The electric car is known for its smooth ride and low base price. From 2009 to the middle of 2016, there were over 37,000 sales worldwide. It was discontinued in 2017.
