What is video conferencing?

When you can’t meet with colleagues or clients face to face, video conferencing lets you all attend meetings from the comfort of your home (or anywhere else with an Internet connection). A video conferencing service provides a sort of virtual meeting room that means both business meetings and even social gatherings can happen anywhere and at any time, even if the participants are miles apart.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus, many more companies have started using these services. But which one – and which level of service – is right for your business?

Verdict: Is Zoom better than GoToMeeting?

Both companies provide a solid video conferencing service. Zoom’s distinct advantage is its free version, which is perfectly adequate for use by smaller companies.

If you run a larger operation or want that little bit of extra customization, the business options available from both providers come with a very long list of features. The “best of the best” from GoToMeeting is the unlimited meeting time on offer, whereas Zoom gives you the option to personalize everything to your brand.

Ultimately, both are great products, and the choice comes down to which features matter the most to you.
