This accessibility has driven demand, especially with the rise of memecoins alongside the established DeFi and NFT (non-fungible token) ecosystem. We expect solana\u2019s price to reach up to $500 this year as more retail investors turn to the network for its affordability and speed compared to ethereum. Development has also progressed well since 2021, which may help address previous vulnerabilities.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Joseph Raczynski, a futurist at JT Consulting and Media, provides a projection closer to the panel average at $300, saying that SOL will benefit from investors who missed out on getting in early on ETH.<\/p><blockquote><p>Solana\u2019s got the rizz. Latecomers who missed ethereum\u2019s big runs have piled into SOL instead. It\u2019s fast, user-friendly and booming, but with more centralization and less censorship resistance, there\u2019s a trade-off.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>John Hawkins, a senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, gives the lowest prediction of the panel, saying that SOL will end the year worth $50, though it may benefit from Trump\u2019s endorsement.<\/p><blockquote><p>BNB\u2019s price largely reflects the price of bitcoin. Like all the non-stablecoin cryptos, it is a speculative bubble. Being included in Trump\u2019s list of favored crypto may help it do less poorly than many other altcoins.<\/p><\/blockquote><h2>Is now the time to buy, hold or sell SOL?<\/h2><p>The majority of the panel (65%) say <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/ca\/cryptocurrency\/coins\/how-to-buy-solana\">SOL is a buy<\/a> in 2025. A further quarter (23%) say you should hold, with just 12% advising that it\u2019s time to sell.<\/p><div class=\"dw-f1\"><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-TGbxy\" title=\"Is now the time to buy, sell or hold solana?\" width=\"100%\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/TGbxy\/\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>Tommy Honan, the director of product at Swyftx, says that now is the time to buy SOL while the DeFi ecosystem is booming.<\/p><blockquote><p>Solana\u2019s got everything it needs \u2014 fast transactions, low fees and a booming DeFi ecosystem. Sure, it\u2019s faced some stability hurdles, but with exciting upgrades on the way, I believe $280 is within reach by 2025. Solana is ready to come back strong, as it has already done a few times in the past!<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Kadan Stadelmann, CTO and project lead of Komodo Platform, also thinks that SOL is a buy for two major reasons:<\/p><blockquote><p>Solana (SOL) has strong bullish potential due to two main factors. Firstly, its growing presence in decentralized finance (DeFi) is a significant driver. With faster transaction speeds and lower fees compared to competitors like ethereum, solana is quickly becoming a top choice for DeFi developers. Additionally, solana\u2019s use as a memecoin chain has increased its visibility and engagement within crypto communities.<\/p><\/blockquote><h2>Do you think SOL is currently overpriced, underpriced or priced fairly?<\/h2><p>The panel thinks SOL has a lot of potential in 2025, with 56% saying the token is undervalued. A little over a quarter of the panel (28%) say SOL is fairly priced, and just 16% say it\u2019s overpriced.<\/p><div class=\"dw-f1\"><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-vK9SW\" title=\"Is solana currently overpriced, underpriced or priced fairly?\" width=\"100%\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/vK9SW\/\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>Shannon Blood, the CMO of InFlux Technologies, thinks that SOL is currently underpriced and says that while it has superior speeds to almost all its competitors, the uptake has been slower \u2026 for now.<\/p><blockquote><p>Solana is one of the fastest-operating L1 (Layer 1) chains because of its parallelistic infrastructure. The only other network that is faster is Sui, but that chain is much smaller regarding adoption. As on-chain congestion increases with more and more new users, developers will flock to solana for its speed, driving its value in the years to come.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Jeremy Britton, the founder of BostonTrading.co, also says that SOL is underpriced, simply adding that \u201ceventually, markets discover the truth.\u201d<\/p><h2>Will we see a SOL ETF in 2025?<\/h2><p>Close to half the panel (45%) say that we will see a SOL ETF in 2025, with a further 30% saying one will come next year.<\/p><div class=\"dw-f1\"><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-IwAsu\" title=\"Will a SOL ETF be approved in 2025?\" width=\"100%\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/IwAsu\/\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>While Ruadhan O, founder of Seasonal Tokens, doesn\u2019t see SOL being approved for an ETF in 2025, he does say that it may happen in 2026 and that SOL\u2019s inclusion in the Strategic Crypto Reserve could go a long way to boosting its chances of approval.<\/p><blockquote><p>The inclusion of SOL in the strategic crypto reserve is bullish and could indicate that the administration no longer views SOL as an unregistered security, boosting the chances of an ETF approval. Like ETH, SOL\u2019s price has plummeted since the start of the year. This is the moment of maximum fear, and the price is likely to recover in the coming months.<\/p><\/blockquote><h2>Will SOL continue its current growth trajectory in 2025?<\/h2><p>With solana\u2019s Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassing $10 billion, indicating a recovering<br>DeFi ecosystem, we asked the panel how likely it is for solana to maintain its growth trajectory for the remainder of 2025, with the majority of the panel saying it\u2019s either likely (60%) or very likely (30%).<\/p><div class=\"dw-f1\"><iframe id=\"datawrapper-chart-JhAiY\" title=\"How likely is it that solana will maintain its DeFi growth momentum through 2025?\" width=\"100%\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/JhAiY\/\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>Nicole DeCicco, the CEO of CryptoConsultz, says that the market is clearly recognizing solana\u2019s value.<\/p><blockquote><p>With TVL surpassing $10 billion, it\u2019s clear the market sees value here. At CryptoConsultz, solana is coming up more often in client conversations \u2014 especially from builders and early-stage project teams who care about UX and cost. If the network can maintain uptime and stay focused on developer growth, I think solana is well-positioned to keep gaining ground, even as competition heats up.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Mitesh Shah, the founder and CEO of Omnia Markets, also mentions solana\u2019s TVL when discussing its potential growth.<\/p><blockquote><p>Solana\u2019s potential is frequently linked to its rapidly growing DeFi ecosystem (evidenced by potentially ~$12B in TVL and ~1.1M daily users) and its high throughput (~3000+ avg TPS), with upgrades like Firedancer promising further enhancements.
