Our research into the lender in December 2024 raised the following concerns:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Not a licensed payday lender.<\/strong> We could not find CoolCash in the Government of Ontario\u2019s database of licensed payday lenders.<\/li><li><strong>Expired licence.<\/strong> CoolCash does display a legitimate Ontario payday lending licence on its website, but that licence expired in September 2020.<\/li><li><strong>Broken link.<\/strong> As of December 2024, the link from the CoolCash homepage to its app in Apple\u2019s App Store was not working.<\/li><li><strong>Outdated social media.<\/strong> The most recent posts on CoolCash\u2019s Facebook page were uploaded in 2020.<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"box\">\r\n  <h5 class=\"box-title\" id=\"financial-hardship\">\u26a0\ufe0f  Warning: Be cautious with payday loans<\/h5>\n<span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">High-cost payday loans are unsustainable for long-term use, with up to $14 charged per $100 borrowed. If you're experiencing financial hardship, call <a href=\"https:\/\/nomoredebts.org\">Credit Counselling Society<\/a> for free financial counselling (Mon\u2013Fri, 8am\u20135pm at 1-888-527-8999).
