Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ works on the latest Samsung TVs without the need for a set-top box. There’s a library stacked with over 600 titles plus more coming soon.

Here’s how to run Disney+ on your Samsung TV:

Step 1: Check that your TV is compatible

Disney+ is available on Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 to the current line-up. There’s a full list of compatible TV models on Samsung’s apps page, but all editions from 2016 and onwards will work.

Step 2: Download the Disney+ app

If your TV supports Disney+, it will be available through “Apps”.

  1. From the TV’s home screen, navigate to and select APPS.
  2. Select the search icon in the top-right corner and search for the Disney+ app.
  3. Once the app is installed you can launch it by pressing the home button on your remote and navigating to it using the remote’s directional pad.
  4. If you have already created a Disney+ account, you can log in, otherwise see how to sign up here.

Step 3: Sign in or create a Disney+ account

If you haven’t already set up an account, you can do so from the app.

Troubleshooting: What if Disney+ isn’t working on your Samsung TV?

Some users report problems viewing Disney+ titles on Samsung TVs. While there could be a number of causes for this, the following tips may help:

  • Give your TV a cold reboot.

This doesn’t simply mean turning your TV off and on, but rather, restarting it much like you would a computer. To do this, hold the Power button for about 5 seconds until your Samsung TV turns off and on again. Alternatively, you could unplug the TV, wait around 30 seconds, then plug it back in again.

  • Update your TV’s software.

This could reset audio and video settings to the default. Turn on your TV, select Support > Software Update > Update Now. Your TV will automatically power itself off and then on. Software updates could be available on Samsung.com before appearing on your TV’s Support menu. Visit the Download Center and select your TVs type and model to download the latest software version.

  • Reset Smart HUB.

Some users have reported being able to view Disney+ titles after resetting their Smart HUB. This will delete all information related to your Samsung account and will return Smart HUB to its factory settings. You’ll be required to enter your PIN (if you don’t remember your PIN, try the default PIN: 0000). Afterwards, you’ll have to re-link to your Samsung account and agree, once again, to the Terms of Service. Find step-by-step instructions on how to reset Smart HUB on samsung.com.
