Bull premiered in 2016 and stars Michael Weatherly in the title role, as Dr. Jason Bull. He is a skilled psychologist, trial science expert and founder of the Trial Analysis Corporation, a consulting firm. Together with his team, Bull advises clients on how to win in court by employing various techniques from intuition to psychology to high-tech data, aiming to better understand jurors and witnesses. His team includes a former detective, a hacker and a neurolinguistics expert, among others.
The series is an exciting procedural drama, especially appealing to fans of legal dramas. If you love courtroom action, you'll definitely enjoy this show about the different tactics used to improve the chance of winning. The team has an uncanny ability to read people, but also relies on hard data like tweets or bank accounts to better understand a juror. Moreover, the characters are compelling and the legal cliches comfortable, so Bull makes for a pretty relaxing binge.
The show is loosely based on the early career of Phil McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, who started a trial consulting firm in the 90s.
