CBS All Access offers a fun library of shows, including streaming originals like The Good Fight and Tell Me a Story. To get the most out of the service, we have all the info you need to set up your account and install the app on your favourite devices.
CBS All Access comes with great device compatibility – you can watch on almost everything, including your smartphone, your gaming console and your smart TV. Better safe than sorry though, so make sure your preferred device is listed below before signing up:
Head to the official CBS All Access website. The main screen should look like this:
Then, click on “Try It Free“.
Next, select your desired plan. You can choose Limited Commercials for $5.99/month or Commercial Free for $9.99/month. If you go for the latter, you will also be able to download videos to play them online. Either way, you get a one-week free trial to test drive the platform. Users can also cancel or change plans anytime on the account page.
Once you’ve selected your desired plan, click on “Continue”. In the next screen, enter your personal information – name, address, email etc – and set up a password to use with the service. Move on and enter your payment information in the next screen. You can choose between a credit card and PayPal. Either way, you won’t be charged until your free trial is up.
You can also click on “Have a promo code?” if you have one. If you do have a code, enter it and then hit “Apply”. Once that’s done, hit the “Start CBS All Access” button.
CBS All Access is compatible with a huge variety of devices, but you have to install the app yourself. Not to worry, we have all the info you need below. Simply scroll to your favourite gadget to get started.
To watch CBS All Access on your PC or Mac, access the website and start streaming. For optimal streaming on a desktop, users should be on Windows 8.1+ or Mac OS X 10.10+. The service supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Internet Explorer.
To stream shows with your iOS phone or tablet, head to the App Store and install the CBS All Access app. Then, log in with your credentials. You can also sign up for CBS All Access directly from the app. CBS All Access works on iOS 9+.
On Android smartphones and tablets, install the CBS All Access app from Google Play, then log in with your email/password or sign up directly via the app. CBS All Access works on Android 4.4+.
To set up the service on your Windows 10 device, visit the Windows Store, search for the app and install it. CBS All Access is supported on all Windows 10 devices.
Amazon Fire TV
You can easily add CBS All Access to your Fire TV by accessing the main menu, then hit “Search”. Once you’ve found the app, select it from Apps & Games in the search results and download it. Next, from the device’s main menu, select “Apps” then click on “CBS All Access”. Click on any episode, live tv, or Settings – Sign In/Sign Up. Finally, follow the directions provided to activate your Fire TV.
If you own an Apple TV 3rd generation or earlier, the CBS All Access channel is automatically loaded during software updates. Make sure you have the latest version by heading to Settings – System – Software Updates – Update Software. If there’s an update, download and install it. For Apple TV 4th generation and 4K, go to the App Store, search for the app and select “Get” once you find it.
To add CBS All Access to your Android TV, search for it in Google Play. When it appears, select it, then select “Install” and “Accept”. Once installed, load the app and you should see the CBS All Access home screen.
To watch CBS All Access with Chromecast, install the Google Home app to your smartphone or tablet from Google Play or the App Store. Once that’s done, access the CBS All Access app on your mobile device and browse for shows. When you’ve settled on one, hit the “Cast” icon and the video should load on your TV screen. You can also cast from your laptop as long as you’re using a Chrome browser.
Get CBS All Access on Roku by going to the Roku home screen then navigating to the Roku Channel Store by selecting “Streaming Channels” from the menu. Go to the Movies & TV category, find the CBS All Access channel and select “Add channel”. Finally, enter your login information and you’re good to go.
CBS All Access works on selected Samsung smart TV models from 2015 onward. To add the app, press the Smart Hub button on your Smart Control remote to go to the Samsung Home screen. Scroll to and select “Apps”, and then click on the Magnifying Glass icon. Enter CBS All Access using the onscreen keypad and select “Done”. Then, select the CBS All Access app and choose “Download”. Once installed, select “Open” to begin streaming TV shows.
CBS All Access works on selected Vizio smart TVs from 2016 onward. To add the app, power on your television and press the V button on your remote. This will access the App Bar. Launch the app store, find CBS All Access, press “OK” followed by “Install app” and then “OK” again. Finally, load the app and select “Already a subscriber? Sign in”. Enter your email and password.
Add the CBS All Access app to your Xbox One by going to the “Store” tab. Select the “Apps” tile then CBS All Access. If you don’t see it, select “Search Apps” and enter CBS. Next, select “Get it Free” and download the app.
You can add CBS All Access to your PS4 by selecting your local user account and going to your Library. Select the CBS All Access app and then click on “Download”. The app should be added on the content launcher. If not, you can find it in your Library. Access it, log in and enjoy.
You can use Alexa voice commands to perform various actions like play, pause, rewind or fast forward while streaming CBS All Access. All Alexa commands start with a hot word (Alexa, Amazon, computer or Echo) and end with CBS All Access. For instance, if you wanted to watch The Good Fight, you would say, “Alexa, play The Good Fight on CBS All Access”.
You can link your CBS All Access account to your Google Home device by launching the Google Home app and clicking the “Devices” icon in the upper right corner. Then select “Settings” for the home device and go to “Videos and Photos”. CBS will show as an option. Tap “Link” then “Link Account”. Log in with your CBS All Access credentials and you will be able to use Google voice commands with Chromecast.
Once your account is online and you’ve installed CBS All Access on your favourite device, it’s time to start watching. You can enjoy over 10,000 TV episodes on demand, tune into live TV streams and binge original shows exclusive to the service. Happy binge!
