PAC Protocol (previously known as PaCoin) is a digital network intending to disrupt the current fintech environment and transition society towards a crypto-first payments system. PAC Protocol allows business, merchants and enterprises to send money globally without worrying about scalability, large fees or delays.
The project claims to be the largest decentralised masternode networks globally, boasting well over 22,000 nodes around the world. Given its huge network distribution, environmental impact was a natural concern for the developers, who completed the switch to a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism in response.
The team behind PAC Protocol developed an app named PACapp, which allows PAC holders to manage their assets, complete transactions and keep up to date on the project’s latest news. Another key application for the token is yanSAFE, which can both be used as a wallet, or a medium for running a node and earning rewards via a PC or Mac.
PAC is the native token of the Pac Protocol and is used primarily as a digital currency, or for operating a node to secure the network (staking) in exchange for additional PAC tokens.
