Everything new and leaving Amazon Prime Video Canada in May 2021

Prime Video highlights for May include limited series The Underground Railroad, documentary P!NK: All I Know So Far and star-studded anthology Solos.

Prime Video’s slate of content for May looks very promising. From an anthology with a tremendous cast to a documentary about a beloved musician, there’s something for everyone.

One of the biggest premieres of the month is The Underground Railroad, a limited series based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead.

The show follows main character Cora Randall, who escapes a Georgia plantation in a desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South. Cora discovers that the rumored Underground Railroad isn’t a metaphor at all, but an actual railroad – a secret network of tracks and tunnels beneath the soil.

Another series to keep an eye out is Panic, a YA drama set in a small Texas town. Every summer, the graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges, winner takes all. This time around, however, the rules have changed and the prize is bigger than ever. Unfortunately, with higher stakes comes bigger danger. The show is executive produced by Lauren Oliver and based on her bestselling novel of the same name.

Missing live music? Then we highly recommend you check out original documentary P!NK: All I Know So Far, which follows the musician as she embarks on her record-breaking 2019 Beautiful Trauma world tour and struggles to balance her family responsibilities with her life as a performer.

If you’re into anthologies, you don’t want to miss Solos, which explores what it means to be human by grappling with AI bots, time travel and more fascinating subjects. The cast features Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Anne Hathaway and Anthony Mackie to only name a few.

Other notable May releases include The Boy from Medellín, an intimate portrait of superstar J Balvin; Horizon Line, a drama about an estranged couple who discover new altitudes of fear aboard a single-engine plane; and The Last Hour, an Indian supernatural thriller.
