Besides death and taxes, the only other certain thing in life is that streaming services will keep spoiling subscribers with new content month after month. Amazon Prime Video is no exception.
In February, the platform is premiering a few buzzy original movies and a highly acclaimed TV show. Add some licensed content into the mix and your watchlist is sorted… at least until spring rolls by.
Jump straight to the list
The biggest premiere of the month has to be dark comedy thriller I Care a Lot, a highly anticipated title which is exclusive to Prime Video in Canada. The movie has a tremendous cast featuring the likes of Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Eiza González and Dianne Wiest.
If you’ve seen Gone Girl, you already know that Pike is a goddess when it comes to playing downright awful people you would like to be as far away as possible from. This time around she portrays Marla, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly wards whose assets she seizes without mercy for her personal gain.
By the looks of the trailer though, she’ll be facing a reckoning soon – and seeing her go head-to-head with Peter Dinklage will surely be a delight. The movie had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September to great reviews and currently boasts a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Another movie worth marking your calendars for is Greenland, an action-packed disaster thriller starring Gerard Butler as a man struggling to keep his family safe as a comet races to Earth. Looking for something to watch on Valentine’s Day? You might like Bliss, a romantic drama with a sci-fi twist starring Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek. On the TV side, acclaimed British series It’s a Sin is coming to Prime Video in February. Critics and viewers alike seem to agree: the show is brilliant, moving and thought-provoking. Set during the 80s, it follows a group of friends as they live in London during a decade plagued by the AIDS crisis, which wreaks havoc among the gay community.
The second season of thriller series The Family Man premieres this month as well. As for licensed content, five seasons of Person of Interest are coming to Prime Video. So are popular movies such as Star Trek Into Darkness, Coming to America, Limitless, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and more.
You can stream all of them using Prime Video's 30-day free trial
