Pros and cons

Customers praise GoToMeeting’s app, which allows for conferencing over your phone, among other benefits. Pros come down to webcam limitations and the lack of a free tier.

Pros

  • Mobile-friendly meetings. Begin video conferencing on your iOS, Windows or Android smartphone with the push of a button – no computer required! It’s easy to invite other users to join, and there are settings to improve call and image quality.
  • No minimum host requirement. While some platforms require a minimum number of hosts, you can add extra players as needed, potentially helping small businesses save money.
  • Unlimited storage. Record calls straight to the cloud to avoid running out of space on your computer.
  • Bundles with other products. Because it’s part of the larger GoTo enterprise, you get discounts for adding on tools like Jive or GoToTraining.

Cons

  • Fewer webcam displays than competitors. Zoom allows for up to 49 HD webcams at once, while GoToMeeting caps at 25.
  • No free tier. Zoom and WebEx offer free tiers with basic conferencing capabilities. With GoToMeeting, you get only 14 days free before needing to purchase a package.

What’s the difference between GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar?

GoToMeeting is a collaborative tool meant to facilitate virtual meetings, whereas GoToWebinar is suited for gatherings that include a presenter and an audience.

With GoToWebinar, after you create an event, you send out an invite with a link users can use to register individually. As the event approaches, GoToWebinar emails reminders. GoToMeeting, on the other hand, sends individual invites that guests can either accept or decline.

GoToWebinar also has practice mode, so the presenter can test drive a presentation before going live. Finally, GoToWebinar has tools like surveys, polls and live Q&A capabilities, whereas GoToMeeting doesn’t.

While GoToWebinar is not included in the price of GoToMeeting, you can bundle both at a discounted rate.

Customer reviews and complaints

GoToMeeting’s parent company, LogMeIn, has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 2009, where it earns an A+ rating based on the BBB’s internal criteria that includes years in business and response to complaints.

That said, it garners only 1 star out of 5 based on more than 40 customer reviews at the time of writing. Unhappy customers complain about billing mistakes and difficulty contacting customer support. However, most complaints are addressed with note that a rep reached out to the customer privately.

The GoToMeeting app earns 4.5 out of 5 stars on the Apple Store, compiled from more than 200 reviews. Users tout dependability and ease of use. User feedback is similar on Google Play, where it also earns a 4.5 out of 5 stars compiled from more than 32,000 reviews.

How do I contact GoToMeeting support?
