The 2019 Volkswagen Beetle hasn’t been received an overall rating an Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) yet. However, individual saftey compnents have been rated. The front driver side crash test received 5 stars, the highest possible rating, from the NHTSA, while the front passenger side received a 4-star rating. The government organization also awarded a 4 star safety rating for the rollover crash test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated the small overlap front test as marginal, a below average rating. All other crash tests performed by the IIHS received a good safety rating, the highest possible rating.
