Dividend payout ratio: 24.55% of net profits

Recently Encompass Health has paid out, on average, around 24.55% of net profits as dividends. That has enabled analysts to estimate a "forward annual dividend yield" of 1.26% of the current stock value. This means that over a year, based on recent payouts (which are sadly no guarantee of future payouts), Encompass Health shareholders could enjoy a 1.26% return on their shares, in the form of dividend payments. In Encompass Health's case, that would currently equate to about $1.12 per share.

While Encompass Health's payout ratio might seem low, this can signify that Encompass Health is investing more in its future growth.

Encompass Health's most recent dividend payout was on 17 October 2022. The latest dividend was paid out to all shareholders who bought their shares by 30 September 2022 (the "ex-dividend date").

Have Encompass Health's shares ever split?

Encompass Health's shares were split on a 1257:1000 basis on 1 July 2022. So if you had owned 1000 shares the day before before the split, the next day you'd have owned 1257 shares. This wouldn't directly have changed the overall worth of your Encompass Health shares – just the quantity. However, indirectly, the new 20.4% lower share price could have impacted the market appetite for Encompass Health shares which in turn could have impacted Encompass Health's share price.

Encompass Health share price volatility
