Weather in the most easterly province of Canada can be unpredictable, but if you’re looking for a destination to escape the summer heat, consider Newfoundland the place to be.

Summers in Newfoundland rarely hit 30°C, but visiting between June and September allows you to spend most of your time outdoors on trails, spotting wildlife and enjoying the many festivals.

Late spring to early summer (May to June) is a perfect time to book a boat tour out to see the bergs along the Avalon Peninsula.

Winter activities take place between January and March, when tourists can explore over 5,000km of trail on a snowmobile.
