Is McDonald’s McDelivery part of Uber Eats in Baton Rouge?

Yes, although only one location. McDelivery is McDonald’s delivery offering. You can order anything off the standard restaurant menu except for soft-serve ice cream and have it delivered within 20-30 minutes. The only McDonald’s currently offering this service is the one located at 5224 Florida Blvd., just across the street from Baton Rouge Community College.

How do I partner my restaurant with Uber Eats in Baton Rouge?

If you own a restaurant in Baton Rouge and you want to make it part of Uber Eats network, you can visit the company website to submit an initial form letting Uber know a bit more about the product you’re cooking up. You’ll be asked to enter your restaurant’s name and type of cuisine along with the number of locations, your estimated weekly number of to-go orders and if you currently offer delivery. Once you submit this information, you’ll be contacted by an Uber Eats team member who will walk you through the next steps.

How does Uber Eats compare to Waitr?

Waitr started in nearby Lake Charles in 2014 and spread to Baton Rouge in 2016. It has 57 restaurants in Lake Charles and another 60 in Lafayette. Waitr does not charge a delivery fee, but does have a $4.99 minimum for delivery. Waitr’s Baton Rouge market has reached 280 restaurants by May of 2017. This makes it Waitr’s largest market to date, likely a result of the proximity of Louisiana State University.

What does the “busy area” fee mean for Uber Eats in Baton Rouge?

The fee is based on how many people are using the service versus how many delivery drivers are currently active at one time. When the number of orders and the number of available delivery drivers equals out in a given area, the fee will disappear.

The “busy area” fee is subject to change.

For instance, when LSU’s football team is playing a road game on a Saturday evening, the number of people watching from home on TV will be enormous. This will drive up the number of Uber Eats orders during the game and cause a “busy area” fee.
