Besides a fun library of content and exciting original productions, Amazon Prime Video also offers subscribers great device compatibility. You can stream shows on a variety of gadgets, including smartphones, gaming consoles and streaming media devices.

You don’t need a smart TV to watch your favorite shows and movies on the big screen. Simply use one of the methods below and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Through a smartphone

To watch via your mobile device download the Amazon Prime application from the relevant iOS or Android app store. Once you login into your account you should be good to go.

Through a gaming console

Amazon Prime Video is compatible with PS3, PS4 and Xbox One. Each console has an online store where you can download games and applications, including Amazon Prime Video.

For PS3, open the PlayStation Store from the XrossMediaBar (XMB), then select “Apps” and then “Movies and TV”. Find Prime Video and opt for “Download”. For PS4, open “TV & Video” from the XrossMediaBar (XMB), find Prime Video, and select the “Download” option. Next, select “Start” to launch the app.

If you have an Xbox One, open the “Store” tab from the Home Screen. Find Prime Video and select the “Get” option. Finally, select “Launch” to access the app.

Through a streaming device

Streaming media devices are convenient little gadgets that enable you to stream content to your television. They basically make your TV smarter in a very affordable way. Amazon Prime Video works with Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku, so take your pick.

To watch Prime Video on your Fire TV Stick Basic Edition, you will need to register your device using the account information associated with your Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership. To do this, select “Settings” from the Fire TV menu and go to “My Account”. If your device is not registered, a “Register” option displays on this screen. Select it and enter your Amazon account information when prompted. Then, open the Prime Video app from the Home screen.

To add Amazon Prime Video to Apple TV, open the App Store application from the Home Screen, search for Prime Video and select the “Get” option. Then, select Prime Video from the Home Screen to launch the app.

Through a laptop

Simply access Amazon Prime via an up to date web browser and login to your account. If you don’t have a game console or streaming player, you can connect your laptop or tablet directly to your TV via an HDMI cable. Then, switch your TV to HDMI mode and you should see your tablet or laptop screen mirrored on the TV. It’s not perfect, but it usually works.
