The Alaska Airlines Visa® Business credit card comes with a rewards program where you earn 3x miles with Alaska Airlines and 1x miles on all other purchases. In addition, you get to earn 40,000 miles and a companion fare from $121. The companion fare is a feature you get every year on your card anniversary.
On the downside, you don’t get a 0% intro APR period on purchases and balance transfers, and you’ll have to pay an annual fee of $50 for the company and $25 for each card you have. But this is easily offset by the companion fare you get each year.
Overall, this is a solid credit card for those who frequently fly with Alaska Airlines or their partners.
- Earn miles.
Earn 3x miles with Alaska and 1x everywhere else. You can redeem your Alaska miles on Alaska flights and partner flights, book hotels or get a first class upgrade on your flight.
- Signup bonus.
Earn 40,000 miles and an Alaska companion fare after you spend $2,000 within the first 90 days your account is open.
- Alaska’s Famous Companion Fare.
Each year on your account anniversary, you’ll earn another of Alaska’s Famous Companion Fares. Just book your flight through Alaska’s site and invite family or friends to travel along with fares starting at $121 — with no blackout dates.
- Alaska Airlines perks.
Save money when traveling with Alaska with a complimentary checked bag for you and up to six companions on the same reservation. That’s a savings of between $60 and $140 per person on a round-trip flight. You also get 50% discount on Alaska Lounge day passes and 20% off on your in-flight purchases.
- Tools to monitor and limit employee spending.
Set individual spending limits for each employee card on your account. You’re also protected against unauthorized purchases on those cards. And through Bank of America’s MyReport Center, you can keep an eye on overall company spending, accessing reports to analyze transactions.
- Travel and emergency services.
Your business is protected for up to $1 million in travel and car rental insurance on reservations charged to your card, including emergency ticket replacement and lost luggage assistance.
What to watch out for
- Annual fee.
You’ll pay a $50 company fee and $25 for each card annually.
- No intro APR period.
Unfortunately, you don’t get a 0% intro APR period on balance transfers or purchases. If this is a perk you value, consider a balance transfer business credit card.
