Expert review

With seven different life insurance policies and riders to customize your coverage, AAA Life Insurance lets you build plans that fit your lifestyle and budget.

You can bypass the medical exam with AAA’s guaranteed issue whole life plan, but you’ll get a low amount of coverage.

However, you can find higher coverage levels for whole life insurance than AAA offers. But if you’re in the market for a term or universal policy, you might want a quote from AAA.

How AAA life insurance companies to other companies

AAA offers universal life and guaranteed whole life policies, offerings that you won’t find at every company. Also, you can get almost instant approvals on a term life policy if you buy coverage under $500,000. Most policies take three or four weeks to approve.

However, you can find more coverage for a whole life or guaranteed issue policy with its competitors. AAA’s policies also cost more than usual for the coverage.

For example, a healthy 30-year-old man might pay $21 a month for a 20-year, $150,000 term life policy with AAA. On average, the same person pays $17 a month for a 20-year, $250,000 term policy — more coverage for slightly less cost than AAA.

Overall, AAA’s best offerings are its term and universal life policies.
